Lichinga (Mozambique), 28-30 May 2012. The Fulfulde, Hausa, Mandenkan, Cinyanja/Chichewa and Setswana Vehicular Cross-Border language Commissions have identified the training of trainers of teachers for African Languages on L1 Methodologies as one of their priority areas during their planning workshops between March and August 2010, which took place in Dakar, Abuja, Bamako, Blantyre and Tshwane respectively. Juba (South Sudan), March 4-8, 2012. According to chapter III, article 22 of the Statutes of the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN), each member state of the African Union should designate a National Language Structures to serve as Focal Point of the Academy. As part of the working structures of ACALAN, the National Language Structures are supposed to work hand in hand with the Secretariat and the sub-regional Vehicular Cross-Border Language Commissions.
